Historic Kona Estate – Keauhou, Hawaii

“The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” –  William James

Scope:

Refresh and renewal of a family estate, for new generations to enjoy, without losing their connections to the past.

We were approached with dual missions for this much loved home and ohana: Update and renew, but also find a way to celebrate the history, memories and legacy in a way that could be felt and touched by every generation that came to experience and enjoy the space.  A custom entry table by renowned wood artist Tai Lake, graces the entry to the main house.  Work was completed while at Trans-Pacific Design with Roth Kimura Architects.  All photography by James Lear.
