FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER AMY VAIL
amy vail - Founder & Principal Designer, M.A., NCIDQ, ASID
Travel throughout her early life exposed her to diverse environments, cultivating an early sensitivity to spatial atmosphere, materiality, and cultural context. That perspective guided her career in creative direction and production across film, live events, and branded environments in the technology and apparel industries; it informs her systems-based approach to complex, multi-layered projects, and developed the experiential lens through which she views design.
She returned to formal study to complete a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture in Chicago and founded her studio in 2021, focusing her practice on interior architecture and design. Today, her work centers on destination estates and seasonal residences developed in close collaboration with clients, architects, and builders. Each commission is approached as a continuous process from concept through completion, guided by precision, refinement, and clarity.

Interior Design Manager Vania Nguyen - NCIDQ, ASID
Vania brings extensive experience leading interior design teams on commercial and residential
projects across the country. Drawing on her expertise in project leadership, BIM, and 3D modeling, she ensures that design intent is translated into coherent, technically precise outcomes, maintaining alignment with architectural and spatial objectives throughout each project.
Project Administrator & Art Specialist Merrin Dickson
Merrin has a strong foundation in art and design, with formal training in Fine Arts and
Art History from the University of Victoria. Growing up in Hawaii with a father who was a
contractor, she developed an early understanding of construction and craft. Merrin manages
project logistics and supports the studio’s creative direction, guiding clients in selecting art and
objects that resonate, ensuring each element is thoughtfully integrated into the interiors.

Bretton Vail
Bretton brings over 25 years of experience running a creative business, with a career rooted in
post-production and editing in Hollywood. He developed advanced expertise in lighting, sound,
and technical systems—experience he now applies to interior architecture—along with a deep
understanding of construction gained from growing up in a family of builders.
At Amy Vail Design, Bretton provides technical guidance, pre-visualization, and project support,
ensuring clients and AV partners achieve polished, professional-level outcomes in lighting, sound, and audiovisual execution.
